I am currently an MRes Translational Neuroscience student at UCL, with a strong scientific background and a BSc in Pharmacology. I have a genuine passion for maths and science and enjoy helping students build both their understanding and confidence in these subjects. Having studied science from GCSE level through to postgraduate research, I understand the challenges students can face and the importance of developing strong foundations I am commited to helping students do their best and achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience
I have had teaching experience across a variety of settings, from teaching martial arts to tutoring maths, science and 11+ preparation. I have worked with primary school students in classroom enviornments and delivered one to one online sessions. As a former grammar school student, I also have first hand experience of the 11+ process and have helped many students prepare for the entrance examinations and develop the skills and confidence so they can succeed.
Tutoring Approach
Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching style to suit each individual learner, whilst taking the parents' goals and expectations into account. I believe building confidence and study skills is just as important and often helps to improve grades. My lessons are supportive, engaging and structured encouraging students to ask questions and develop a genuine understanding of the content. I also focus on teaching effective revision techniques and problem-solving strategies to help students long term!
