I have enjoyed tutoring Chemistry and Maths since 2022, at both A‑Level and GCSE, including Edexcel IGCSE. My past students have transformed their grades from an E to As and A*s - with some A level students pursuing pharmacy and chemical engineering at university.

My lessons usually start with an introduction to the topic, or revision, followed by the fundamental principles. I then build up the tutee's understanding with interactive problem solving, encouraging questions and building the tutee's confidence in the subject matter. This involves identifying the tutees' exact strengths & weaknesses relative to the skills required to excel in the subject - for example pattern recognition in maths, predictive correlation in chemistry or mechanistic reasoning in physics. I then ground the syllabus & specification to real-world applications of the phenomena studied in the subjects I tutor - I use engineering principles derived from them on a daily basis at the workplace. In my experience tutees find this change of perspective from "studying for grades" to "studying for my future" gives them intrinsic motivation to excel in their studies. The grades come naturally when a student *wants* to excel and has the right guide to build their path with them.
