I have over two years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics, English and Science at both KS2 and GCSE level. Throughout this time, I have planned and delivered one-to-one lessons tailored to each student's strengths and areas for improvement. I regularly help students prepare for exams through targeted revision, exam-style questions and past papers. Many of my students have improved their confidence and performance by developing stronger problem-solving skills and a better understanding of key concepts. I also set homework and revision tasks between lessons to reinforce learning and monitor progress over time. My experience has taught me how to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt lessons to different learning styles and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

My lessons are structured around active learning rather than simply listening to explanations. I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding and reviewing previous topics using active recall techniques to strengthen long-term memory. New concepts are then introduced through clear explanations and worked examples before students apply their knowledge independently. A strong focus of my teaching is exam technique and problem-solving. I regularly use exam-style and past paper questions to help students become familiar with assessment requirements and learn how to approach different question types effectively. Throughout lessons, I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions and learn from mistakes, helping them build both confidence and independence. I believe the most effective learning happens when students truly understand why a method works, rather than simply memorising steps.
