I’m a Senior Maths Leader, Lead Practitioner and GCSE/A‑Level examiner with nearly 20 years of experience helping students achieve rapid, meaningful progress. My students typically improve by 1–2 grades within 8–12 weeks, thanks to my structured, visual teaching style and exam‑focused approach. I specialise in building confidence quickly — especially for students who struggle with algebra, fractions, problem‑solving or exam technique. As an examiner, I teach students exactly how marks are awarded, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how to write answers that examiners reward. I’ve led high‑performing maths departments and trained teachers across multiple schools, and I bring that same clarity, rigour and support to every tutoring session.
I specialise in helping students rapidly improve their confidence and performance in mathematics across KS3, GCSE and A‑Level. My strongest areas include algebra mastery, problem‑solving, exam technique, and structured support for students aiming for Grade 4–9 at GCSE. I also provide expert guidance in A‑Level Pure Maths, drawing on my experience as an examiner to teach students exactly how marks are awarded and how to avoid common pitfalls. I work particularly well with learners who need clear, step‑by‑step explanations, personalised revision strategies, and targeted support to close gaps quickly.
My teaching style is clear, structured and highly personalised. I break down complex ideas into simple, visual steps so students understand not just what to do, but why it works. Every lesson focuses on building confidence through guided practice, targeted questioning and immediate feedback. I use examiner insight to show students exactly how marks are awarded and how to avoid common mistakes. My approach blends explanation, modelling, worked examples and exam‑style questions, ensuring students develop fluency, problem‑solving skills and strong exam technique. I adapt my pace and methods to each learner, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress quickly.
