English, Maths, Italian & German · First-Class Honours Graduate
Online lessons
I graduated in 2026 with First-Class Honours in BA Linguistics and Studies in Modern Languages & Cultures. I speak Italian and German at a C1 level, and am excited to share my love of these languages with new tutees. That said, English and Maths tuition was my bread and butter prior to graduation and I still enjoy teaching it now. I really enjoy seeing my students succeed, but I want that success to come from confidence, good rapport and regular practice. I firmly believe that nagging, shaming or otherwise hassling a student doesn't get them to where they need to be.
English & Maths: ◦ 1.5 years' experience tutoring KS3/4 English & Maths with Prospero Teaching - 1:1 alternative provision with the Local Educational Authority for students removed from mainstream education due to SEND/SEBD. ◦ Registered with Titanium Tutors, providing online private tuition to clients in London. Currently tutoring one student in Y5 Maths. ◦ Volunteering with Action Tutoring, helping Y5 pupils performing just below the national average to improve their grades. ESOL & MFL: ◦ Level 5 TEFL with TEFL, including a practicum with a local charity teaching English to asylum seekers and economic migrants. ◦ Excited to take on students in Italian and German. ◦ Studying A-Level Latin and Classical Greek, with a view to tutor GCSE or 13+. Other: ◦ Creative Workshops with Barnsley Museums Trust and FUSION LCEP since 2022. ◦ Planning to gain QTS via assessment-only or ITT within the next two years.
I keep up-to-date with the latest ideas in lesson planning and teaching technique. I like combining different types of activities and different ways of presenting new information to see what works best for the student. Using the Microsoft Teams whiteboard, I can mix pre-prepared text with on-the-go explanations and even reuseable templates for games. Some students look for top marks, while others just want to pass and move on with their lives. The difference between tutoring these two groups isn't in the quality or difficulty of materials, but instead in the type of encouragement the student needs. Someone looking to achieve top marks might be able to highlight areas they'd like to cover. Perhaps they know they can do it, and they just need help planning the 'how'. On the other hand, my students with Prospero Teaching often come to me with the impression that learning isn't for them, and building their confidence in their ability to retain new knowledge becomes top priority.

“I was Eloise's Academic Tutor at the University of Sheffield, so I don't have any direct experience of her tutoring. But I can confirm that she was an ouitstanding student with an excellent grasp of pedagogy, class design, and classroom interactions. She was also a very hardworking and dedicated student, and I think she would be a credit to any institution.”
