Hi, I’m Faaizah! I’m a First-Class Economics and Mathematics graduate from the University of Sheffield, with excellent GCSE and A-level results. I tutor Maths, Physics and Economics and have classroom experience, including supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I love teaching because I enjoy helping students make sense of something they previously found difficult and seeing their confidence grow. My approach focuses on building a clear conceptual understanding, so you understand why a method works and can apply your knowledge to unfamiliar questions. My lessons are thoroughly researched and carefully prepared around your goals. I also adapt them to your needs in the moment, whether that means trying a different explanation, breaking a problem into smaller steps or moving on to something more challenging. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while building the skills and confidence to achieve your best.

I have experience tutoring students with special educational needs, helping them achieve GCSE passes from initial target grades of 1 and 2. I adapted my explanations and the pace of lessons to their individual needs, building their understanding and confidence step by step. During my primary school placement, I supported Year 3 pupils in the classroom, prepared teaching materials and provided one-to-one maths support. I have also supported other GCSE students, helping them understand difficult topics, practise exam questions and develop greater confidence in their abilities.

My lessons are carefully planned around your exam board’s specification, which I research thoroughly to ensure we cover the relevant content and assessment requirements. I tailor each lesson to your goals, current understanding and areas where you need more support. I use scaffolding to break challenging topics into manageable steps. We start with the foundations, work through examples together and gradually move towards independent practice as your confidence grows. I focus on understanding why methods work, so you can apply your knowledge to unfamiliar questions. Throughout the lesson, I check your understanding and adapt my explanations, pace and activities to your needs in the moment. Exam questions help us put your learning into practice and identify what to work on next.
