Teaching experience

In my current role as a Mathematics Teacher, I teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and have successfully led a Year 9 tutor group. I plan and deliver well-structured lessons that develop procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, and conceptual understanding. With the use of effective modelling, carefully planned questioning, scaffolded learning, and opportunities for independent problem-solving, I encourage students to become resilient, reflective learners who are willing to persevere when faced with challenging mathematical concepts. Furthermore, I have a secure understanding of effective Mathematics pedagogy and recognise the importance of carefully sequenced learning that builds upon prior knowledge whilst addressing misconceptions. Furthermore, I make effective use of differentiation in ensuring that all pupils including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the support and challenge necessary to make sustained progress.
