I am a motivated and approachable tutor who loves all things science! After completing my masters degree in Biochemistry I transitioned into the world of research and drug discovery for Cardiff University and the University of Oxford. After 2 years of research, I wanted to move into the field of teaching as I wanted to get others involved too. That's why I decided to complete a highly rewarding PGCE in secondary school science with QTS - with the aim of getting to know young people, get them involved in science, and provide highly effective and fun science lessons.

Secondary science PGCE graduate with Qualified Teaching Status. I have 12-months of experience teaching ages 11-16 in all sciences from KS3 to GCSE. I have all of the resources available to teach adaptive, effective, and challenging 1-1 sessions in KS3 and GCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

I structure a lesson with a starter activity which aims to grasp the student's prior knowledge and get them interested in the topic of that lesson. I follow this with teacher explanations alongside engaging visual cues which are suited to all students. Once the student's knowledge has been obtained, I then adapt my lessons to suit the needs and abilities of each individual student, with the aim of supporting and pushing the needs of the student. I follow the National Curriculum in England, and have all the resources readily available to provide an effective, and challenging lesson to all students.
