I’d love to help students gain the confidence and skills that they need to reach their academic goals. I take an individualistic approach to learning, tailoring my methods for each individual student and their preferred learning style whilst focusing on making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience to incentivise effort. I’m a very patient, empathetic and understanding individual and I believe these qualities make me particularly well suited to tutoring. I’m particularly interested in tutoring GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate Media studies/digital media related subjects and courses. I’m also confident in teaching maths (primary and secondary level, including GCSE, iGCSE, and A-level), in addition to English language and literature. I would love the opportunity to really make a different in the education of children and young adults and I truly believe everyone deserves access to a teacher willing to give them the time and space to grow and learn.
So far I’ve tutored privately for family members and family friends, but I’d love to expand and take this into a professional setting. Due to my newly developing experience, I’m offering a lower rate than the typical tutoring fee. I believe that graduating so recently is a big advantage as I have first hand experience of the recent school curriculum and the exam systems.
As mentioned previously, I take an individualistic approach to learning, tailoring my methods for each individual student and their preferred learning style whilst focusing on making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience to incentivise effort. Some of my methods for teaching include visual learning (using a whiteboard/virtual whiteboard), teaching methods that students can apply to a range of different questions and subjects when in exam conditions, flashcards and other memory-stimulating methods, going through practice questions with the student and walking through different ways to approach a question, and getting students to explain their thought process back to me whilst approaching answering questions so that I can understand how I might be able to support their learning better. I’m a very patient, empathetic and understanding individual and I believe these qualities make me particularly well suited to tutoring.
